Poetry & Songs:
On a cold winter night

By: Arjan Wardekker

There was a star that I once knew.
The only one heart that was true.
A true love, promised and foretold,
a night that was so dark and cold.

And so I thought the end was near.
That there was nothing left to fear.
But the darkness has a deeper shade,
as soon as hope will start to fade.

My will is broken, hope is dead.
Despair now keeps the waiting fed.
But in this darkness I can't see,
the promised light that was to be.

I see the night's sky I've become.
The chaos that is feared by some.
The end will come now soon, I hope,
for soon shall madness tie my rope.

I'll see only death to follow.
If the promise will prove hollow.
A helping hand shall break the door,
or soon the dead will die once more.
