Poetry & Songs:
False Dawns

By: Arjan Wardekker

Can you still see,
see the road ahead of you?
Is it there, is it true,
or will the ground beneath you flee?

I wish I had a clue,
but I'm torn between many an illusion.
All that is left here is confusion,
confusion, chaos, what am I to do?

I've seen the dawn,
many a time, newborn light so kind.
False dawns they were, corrupting my mind,
fooling me to yawn.

The skies are dark now,
as I'm waiting to be deceived once more.
And still, still my heart is like an open door,
for you, the one to hold my vow.
