Poetry & Songs:
Lonely Spark

By: Arjan Wardekker

Song of death hums through the night.
In his heart for years a blight.
Murdering the human thought,
madness is from darkness wrought.

Rain pours from the empty sky.
Lonely like a tearless cry.
Darkness rips up utter black,
strangling shadows meant to wreck.

But a spark of light still dwells,
in the night of burning hells.
Standing ground with broken feet,
faith is but the ground to meet.

Ripped of hope and faith he stands,
drowning slowly in time's sands.
Still it can't get angel's root,
flaming blade of inner good.

Every shadow that is killed,
thousand new his heart be filled.
He's been waiting for too long,
tales of life that seem now wrong.

The utter silence they abide,
roaring chaos brings inside.
Cutting wind brings eerie sound.
Will it's death be ever found?

Rain as cold as ice that's thus,
life draining slowly from us.
Lonely in these empty vasts.
Life on us it's mis'ry casts.
