Poetry & Songs:
Tears

By: Arjan Wardekker

Tears roll by,
past the years, past the days.
For no one else to see,
but me.

Silently they came,
silently they went away,
untill I fell asleep.
And they fell deep.

But as the sun,
the desert-sun kept burning on me,
the tears died,
they dried up as I cried.

I've got no tears left to cry,
but cry I must,
for my heart will break
under the weight it must take.

Tears rolled by,
past the years, past the days.
For no one else to see,
not even me.

Silently they came,
silently they went away,
but I can't sleep.
And they fell deep.

I need to break the silence,
but I'm afraid.
Now, these words be my tears,
please take away my fears.
