Have you ever seen a bird,
an eagle trapped in a cage?
Seen when he makes his cries heard,
with the silence as his wage?

Have you ever seen his eyes,
and felt his pain within you?
Seen him when his heart just sighs,
behind bars he can't break through?

Have you ever seen him long,
seen this spark then fade away?
Seen his cries become a swansong,
rather want to die then stay?

Have you ever looked at me,
or heard what song my heart sings?
In my eyes, what do you see,
is it not these broken wings?
