Poetry & Songs:
Victory's Defeat

By: R.J. Madarian

Sun so bright, clouds so white,
Returning home, I have done my part,
My dear family, beloved of my heart,
When I'm with them, it feels so right.

But there they lie, in pools of blood,
My king betrayed me, without reason,
How still they are, their voice cries treason,
Their will be justice, so damn me god.

Tears of pain, and tears of rage,
My vision turns from bright to black,
Nothing will bring my loved ones back.

We gave our blood, we gave our pride,
They paid in gold, they paid in fright,
We fought the enemy far away,
But now we'll fight, near home we'll stay.

I'll make them pay, I'll make them bleed,
They will suffer for their greed,
I will not stop, will not turn round,
I'll burn this kingdom to the ground.

Tears of pain, and tears of rage,
My vision turns from bright to black,
Nothing will bring my loved ones back.

Their houses burned, their bodies slain,
Blood for blood, pain for pain,
Slay them all, leave no one standing,
Our grief is ever more demanding,
No matter the numbers that we kill,
The void in us grows stronger still.

Tears of pain, and tears of rage,
My vision turns from bright to black,
Nothing will bring my loved ones back.

And here we are, at battle's ending,
Our souls are torn, our minds are bending,
Under strain, too much to bear,
There's no one left for us to care.

The void consumed me skin and bones,
Dead men laughing on empty thrones,
Raven beaks at dead eyes peck,
Nothing will bring my loved ones back.
