This prestige class is based around the Targai and their base army setup.

Requirements:
Race: Targai.
Base Attack Bonus: +3
Abilities: Cha or Con, and Str bonus +1.
Special: Additional requirements are placed for certain levels.

Class Features:
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: None.
Allies (Ex): At level 2, a Targai Trooper gains a defensive bonus when fighting with allies: a +2 dodge bonus to AC when an ally is next to him. At level 3, he gains an offensive bonus: a +1 circumstance bonus to melee attacks, when an ally is next to your opponent (cumulative with flanking bonus).
Charm Aura (Su): At level 4, the Trooper gains a charming aura. Persons within 5 ft./level of the Trooper may be effected as by a Charm Person spell (save to negate is 10 + 0 + Cha). The effect lasts as long as the person remains within range, up to a maximum of 1 hour/level (upon which the character receives another save). Once freed from the spell, a subject cannot be effected by the aura for a day.
Conjure Ballista (Sp): A level 5 Targai Trooper can conjure a ballista with 10 bolts 2/day. The ballista remains for 10 minutes/level or until the bolts are expended. The ability does not automatically grant the Trooper any proficiency in using the siege weapon.
Spell-like Abilities (Sp): At level 6, a Targai Trooper gains the ability to cast Fear, Suggestion, and Discern Lies 3/day. The spells are cast as 4th level spells and are Charisma based. At level 7 he gains Dominate Person 1/day, cast as level 2 spell. At level 8, he can cast Summon Monster IV 2/day. At level 9, he can cast Glyph of Warding and Healing Circle 3/day. Finally, at level 11, he can cast Greater Planar Ally 1/week.
Spellcasting: At level 10, the Trooper can select one of his casting classes (if any) and casts spells and receives spells known and spells per day as if he were 2 levels higher in that class. If he has no casting classes, he may instead gain spellcasting as a level 1 caster of any standard character class of his choosing (other class abilities are not gained). At level 11, casting in the previously selected class is again improved with 2 levels.

Command:
In a Targai army, Troopers of certain ranks usually gain command of specific units of other Troopers. An Underofficer (level 4) gains command of 1 Commando, 2 Swordsmen, and 3 Recruits. A Corporal (level 7) commands 2 Underofficers. A Sergeant (level 8) commands 3 Corporals. A Lieutenant (level 9) commands 3 Corporals. A Captain (level 10) commands 3 Lieutenants; there can be only 100 Captains in an army at one time. A General (level 11) commands the 100 Captains; there can be only 1 General in an army.

[Editor's Note: For obvious balancing reasons, the game master should not grant Player Characters the units of Targai Troopers listed under the Command section, unless for very specific and short missions or for roleplaying purposes only (they should not be taken along on adventures). He could however rule that the character gains one of the reputation modifiers to his Leadership score, at higher levels.]
