Game: Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)
The Gnomish Coin Counter & Sorter is a rather large and heavy magical apparatus that produces steam from several large vents and has a multitude of blinking lights, switches, and other paraphernalia that would appeal to any tinkering Gnome. In true Tinker fashion, these serve no purpose whatsoever.
Once activated, coins and similar small objects (no larger than 1 foot in diameter) can be entered into the machine. The device magically counts and sorts the objects, expelling them from several exit tubes. Bags or crates can be attached to the exit tubes, in order to collect the objects. It also cleans the objects, making them nice and shiney. The user can let the device sort objects based on size, weight, material composition (e.g. gold or silver), and/or magical aura (presence, strenght and/or school). The Counter audibly returns the count per type of object.
The Coin Counter can greatly assist in any task that requires one to sort and keep track of a multitude of small objects. It grants the user a +2 bonus to any Craft, Profession or Alchemy check that involves multiple small components and takes place over a period of one week or longer.
The Coin Counter can also be upgraded to, or instantly bought as, an improved version. This version also performs minor repairs (as per Mending spell) if needed and grants a +4 bonus to the checks mentionned above.
Caster Level: 3rd; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Prestidigitation, Identify, Message, for the improved version also Mending; Market price: 2,000 gp (standard version) or 4,000 gp (improved version); Weight: 200 lb.
